First, we had a presentation of Slovenia and a welcoming show with the Spanish partners. Many Slovenes had prepared songs or dances.
After, we had a high school visit. Slovene students were our guides.
At the end of the morning, we had a treasure hunt in Ljubljana. The Slovenian teachers gave us a balloon and a CD with the students´ favourite songs. It was very funny and after, the French were tired because some student ran in order to win.
In the afternoon, we were separated in 3 groups : folk dances, songs or boat racing. The French won the boat race!!!! Some boys played basketball in the back of the high school.
At night, many of us went to Fabrka. It is a pub with music near the high school. And many Slovenes danced. And after, we went to another pub to finish the evening. It was very cool but the drinking law in Slovenia is very strict.
A work program for students today! In the morning we had a guided tour of Ljubljana, and about a famous architect of the city named Jože Plečnik. He influenced many buildings, bridges and places in Ljubljana. His first idea was to make large places to encourage people to meet each other. Ljubljanica river crosses the centre, it's where Plečnik make the banks with different trees, so he put the wind the spirit of Slovenia and the wind into the city.
In the afternoon, we worked in a classroom for projects, in spite of the good weather!
On Wednesday we had a whole-day excursion to the Slovenian Karst region and the seaside.
At 8 o’clock in the morning, we departed from Ljubljana and headed towards our first site, which was (for Slovenes) Predjamski castle and (for French) Postojna cave.
After about 2 hours we switched our visits (the French students now visited Predjamski grad and the Slovene students visited Postojna cave).
When both groups had seen both sites, we had a little free time and then we continued our trip to Piran, a lovely city at the Slovenian coast. The sun was shinning, so everyone took the chance to sunbathe and relax at the beach for two whole hours.
At 4 o’clock in the afternoon we had to go Lipica, a world renounced stable (one of the 9 stables in Europe with Lipicaner horses or lipicanci). Our visit finished at 6 o’clock, so there was nothing left to do, but to go home.
We returned to Ljubljana at 8 o’clock, very tired and sun-burnt. Of course, that didn’t stop us from going to our bowling centre after dinner. Unfortunately we could only stay there till midnight, because we had to wake up early the next day.
Thursday was the day for sport activities, only this time he headed towards Carniola region, to a small town called Bohinj. We were again separated into 3 groups. 1st group started with climbing, 2nd one with canoeing and the 3rd one with crossing the river on a rope. It was a pity we only had time till 12.30, because the local home for children had already been expecting us. After we ate the delicious lunch we had to go to Ljubljana.
We arrived in front of our school at 4 o’clock and started to work on our projects (we still had a lot of work to do).
Thursday was the last night together, so we went out to Bailey a disco/bar near our high school.
The way we looked and yawned this morning would have probably told you about the late hours we came home. Still, he had a lot time to sleep because we didn’t have to be at school till 2 o’clock in the afternoon. From 2 till 4 o’clock we had time to finish our projects completely and have a rehearsal. The actual presentation finished at 6 o’clock, when the bus to take our French exchange students arrived.
